Hi! I’m Kelli McIntosh. I’m a hand lettering artist and a writer, living in southern Ohio.
I love writing, drawing, organizing (and re-organizing!), historical fiction, country music, and long drives on back roads. I am married to my best friend of 22 years and I’m mom to a 17-year old son and a 16-year old daughter. These three are my everything!
Once upon a time, I decided to go to college and become a math teacher, get married, and have two children. I did all of the above, but my life looks nothing like I thought it would. My son was born with a rare genetic condition called SYNGAP1. Our life is not a typical one and it has caused me and my family to make changes along the way.
Long story short, I left full-time teaching for a more flexible schedule to take care of my son and after many trials and errors, ended up here, on this little piece of internet with my name.
On this site…
I write about my experiences as a special needs mother: Blog: Kelli & Kyle
I link to my shop, Mac ‘n’ Fox Designs, where I create custom and downloadable artwork: Mac ‘n’ Fox SHOP
I share behind the scenes of my life with a son with special needs on this YouTube Channel: Kelli & Kyle: Our Story
And although I no longer teach middle school math, I still get to utilize my love of teaching. I have an online course, in which I teach others how to write in modern calligraphy: Kelli’s Calligraphy Course
All of the above allows me the flexibility to do what I love, help support our family, and help other families who have children with special needs to not feel isolated.
Listen to Podcasts? I was a guest on “The Special Needs Mom Podcast” with Kara Ryska. I talk about finding comfort in journaling and art. Listen here: Podcast Interview.
